(Head office: Tochigi City, Tochigi Prefecture, President and CEO: Mitsuhiro Takada), Kanuma Cable Television Co., Ltd. (Headquarters: Kanuma City, Tochigi Prefecture, President and CEO: Hiroyuki Tato) and Watarase Television Co., Ltd. (Headquarters: Ashikaga City, Tochigi Prefecture, Representative Director and President: Minoru Soma) are the four companies behind ATBeX, ATTokyo's network service platform. *1" and "tochigix," a regional IX *2 (Internet eXchange) that interconnects cable TV ISPs (Internet Service Providers) in Tochigi Prefecture, are collaborating. The service provision through collaboration is scheduled to begin in the spring of 2024, and as soon as preparations are complete, an announcement will be made on each company's website.
This collaboration between ATBeX and tochigix will enable on-demand connectivity from tochigix's service area to major domestic and international data centers, network operators, and service providers provided by ATBeX. This will enable a low-cost and efficient interconnected environment between regions, and is expected to create new business opportunities and value.
Furthermore, in Japan, cloud usage is gaining momentum not only in private companies but also in local governments as the government promotes the use of government cloud. Through this collaboration, we will also meet the need to easily and inexpensively use a closed connection network to the cloud from related facilities of local governments and local branch offices of private companies.
